To Loneliness, a poem; (from Soft foot treads of my Soul)

Where ever I look you are always there

Trailing after me with your long dark hair

I speak to you from the midst of despair

I hear  no reply there is nobody there

 You haunt me by night

You stalk me by day

I beg you to leave but you always stay

You unpacked your bag upon my floor

You wear carpet slippers and have your own draw

The day you leave will be my sunniest day

Take your angst far, far away.

 TO DESPERATION AND HOPE
(Written for Margaritta)

Quietly your grey clouds block out my sky

You gain strength within me until I silently cry

You appear to me as a long grey street

that stretches for ever under my feet

To escape your tentacles I try and hide

But you remain  so close to my side

then into the future I see a flicker of light

A tiny candle not very bright

Dear Hope a glimpse of you reaches my sight

Lifting the dark in the death of my night

 TO HAPPINESS

Happiness  I've been in such a state

 Where have you been

 You are terribly late!

Where were you hiding my absent friend?

I looked for you at life's every bend

I have learned that to know you I must look within

But, dear friend how long you have been

Thanks for writing. sometimes it seems like the rhyme scheme is forced. try fee verse too. There isn't too much poetry here. Thanks!

I like your word pictures but what comes across the strongest is your depth of feeling - it draws the writer in. When I was younger and used to be sad, down, depressed...I'd write a poem and pour my heart, soul and SELF into it - after doing that it freed me up - cathartic - I hope you found release in writing these. Thanks for sharing with your readers glimpses of your emotions. Marijo
